Questions, answered
How are your rugs made?
Paris-Bagdad is an online rug brand selling machine-washable Persian rugs to customers across the United States. Each design is precision-printed on 100% polyester low-pile velvet. It begins with the great Persian tradition: the medallions, the borders, the florals and the colors that weavers refined over centuries. We choose each design for how faithfully it carries those old patterns, then bring it to life on soft velvet with a dotted non-slip backing, made to go in the washing machine. The heirloom look, without the gallery price or the fear of the first spill.
Will the colors look like the photos?
As closely as a screen allows. We do our best to show every color as it really is, and each rug comes with plain-language color notes: base, medallion, border. Screens vary a little, so if you're unsure, write to us before you order and we'll help you choose.
Will it shed?
Barely. The low, dense velvet pile keeps its fibers where they belong. A few loose fibers in the first days are perfectly normal; one quick vacuum and it's settled.
Product Details
Yasaman Ivory & Cornflower is a machine-washable Persian rug with a warm ivory field, cornflower and navy blossoms with sand accents, and a sand-and-blue border. The Story
In the courtyard houses of Shiraz, jasmine climbed every wall and perfumed every evening. Yasaman scatters cornflower-blue blossoms across a warm ivory field, framed by a slim sand-toned border. Light and fresh, it is made for a breakfast nook, a bedroom or a sunlit living room.
Inspired by patterns Persian weavers have passed down for generations, and made for the way you live today.

What are Paris-Bagdad rugs made of?
100% polyester low-pile velvet, with a precision-printed design and a dotted non-slip backing. It is soft underfoot and made to go in the washing machine.
Are Paris-Bagdad rugs authentic Persian rugs?
No, and that's on purpose. Paris-Bagdad rugs are Persian-style: designs inspired by traditional Persian patterns, precision-printed on machine-washable polyester velvet, not hand-knotted. That is what makes them washable and affordable.
Will the colors look like the photos?
As closely as a screen allows. We do our best to show every color as it really is, and each rug comes with plain-language color notes: base, medallion, border. Screens vary a little, so if you're unsure, write to us before you order and we'll help you choose.
Are the dimensions exact?
Yes, within about an inch. Every size is listed in feet and in centimeters, so you know exactly what you're getting. Like any rug, allow about 1 inch (1–3 cm) either way.
How do I choose the right size?
In most living rooms, the largest size that fits your space. A simple rule: the rug should be large enough for at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs to rest on it. Our sizes run from 3'3" x 5'3" (100 x 160 cm) to 6'7" x 9'10" (200 x 300 cm). Not sure? Send us a photo of your room and its measurements, and we'll suggest sizes and pieces that would work. It's free.
Will it shed?
Barely. The low, dense velvet pile keeps its fibers where they belong. A few loose fibers in the first days are perfectly normal; one quick vacuum and it's settled.
How long will it last?
For years, with everyday care. It is made to keep its look, and because it's washable, a spill or a muddy paw doesn't have to be the end of it.
How do I clean and care for it?
It's simple, and it never needs dry cleaning. Vacuum regularly without the beater bar and blot spills right away with a clean cloth and cold water. When it needs more, put it in the washing machine on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Larger sizes may need a large-capacity machine.
Can I live with it with a dog or kids?
Yes, that's what it's made for. The low pile is less likely to hold onto pet hair and dust, the dotted backing helps keep it from sliding, the pattern hides everyday life, and when there's an accident, it goes in the wash.
How can a rug this beautiful cost so little?
We sell online only. We put everything into what you will see and feel: the timeless pattern, the softness underfoot, the ease of a rug that goes in the wash. And nothing into what you won't: no showroom, no middleman. You get the presence of an heirloom at a price that makes sense for real life.
How long does shipping take, and is it free?
Free across the US, in 3–10 business days from your order to your door. Every rug ships rolled, and you receive a tracking number by email.
Who pays for return shipping?
We do. Returns are free within 30 days of delivery, and we send you a prepaid return label. Write to us at hello@paris-bagdad.com with your order number. The rug must be unused and clean, rolled (never folded) and in its original condition. Your refund is issued to your original payment method within 10 business days of receiving your return. If your rug arrived damaged or incorrect, write to us within 7 days of delivery with photos for a replacement or a full refund.
