Do & don't

Do

  • Vacuum regularly, on the suction setting
  • Shake it out outdoors now and then
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean white cloth
  • Lay it on a clean, dry floor so the backing can grip
  • Machine wash it on a gentle, cold cycle when it needs it

Don't

  • Use a beater bar or rotating brush
  • Tumble dry on high heat
  • Rub a stain, or use hot water or bleach
  • Fold the rug for storage
  • Wring or twist it to dry

Spills & stains, step by step

  1. Act fastThe sooner you treat a spill, the easier it lifts.
  2. Blot, don't rubPress a clean white cloth on the spill, from the edge toward the center.
  3. Rinse lightlyDab with a little cold water, then blot again until dry.
  4. Dry flatLet it dry flat, away from direct heat.
  5. Then wash itFor wine, ink or pet accidents that don't lift, machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle and air dry it flat.

Deep cleaning & storage

Deep cleaning. Put it in the washing machine on a gentle, cold cycle with a mild detergent, then lay it flat or hang it to air dry. Larger sizes may need a large-capacity machine. No dry cleaning needed.

Storage. Roll your rug (never fold it), pile facing inward, and wrap it in breathable cotton, not plastic. Store it in a dry place.

A note on color. The softly faded look is printed in on purpose. It gives every design the feel of a rug that has lived a life, without the fragility.
